Job Description

Field Systems Engineer (Customer-Facing | Aerospace Cabin Systems) – Crane Aerospace & Electronics

Be the face of a Multi-Billion-Dollar, World-Leading Aerospace Engineering Organization

Travel Exposure + International Career Path

Location: Hybrid – Customer-Site Based – Germany (Primary) + UK (regular) + France (occasional) + U.S. (Onboarding)

This is not a traditional desk-based systems role. We’re looking for a hands-on, customer-facing Field Systems Engineer who wants to step into a high-visibility, mission-critical role supporting some of the most advanced aircraft cabin systems flying today — and doing it on site, with customers, where it matters most.

You’ll act as the technical face of a multi-billion-dollar aerospace Tier-1 manufacturer in a brand-new European geography, working directly with major aircraft seat manufacturers across Germany, France and the UK, while being backed by an elite engineering team in the U.S.

If you enjoy travelling, troubleshooting, building trust with customers, and learning fast — this role was built for you.

Our Field Systems Engineer will:

  • Act as primary technical support for aircraft seat actuation systems at customer manufacturing sites
  • Troubleshoot electrical & mechanical issues using hands-on diagnostic tools (multimeter, system testing, etc.)
  • Perform system-level and seat-level testing by following defined procedures
  • Work closely with customers to understand issues, prevent escalations, and reduce returns
  • Translate customer needs into clear technical feedback for engineering teams in the U.S.
  • Support requirements capture and future product discussions as relationships mature
  • Travel frequently across Germany, the UK and France (typically ~50–70%)

This Field Systems Engineer role is perfect for an early-career engineer (2–5 years exp.) who:

  • Wants customer exposure, not just internal work
  • Enjoys hands-on troubleshooting more than deep component design
  • Communicates clearly with both engineers and non-engineers
  • Learns fast and isn’t afraid of responsibility
  • Wants international travel and a long-term aerospace career

If you are an ambitious Field Systems Engineer seeking international travel opportunities, career advancement and genuine opportunities for technical development, apply today, Suitable candidates will be contacted within 48 hours!
