The responsibilities of a Production Supervisor are as follows:

  • To operate all production equipment/machinery to a stellar Health & Safety standard, in accordance with company expectations and legislation
  • Ensure all quality standards are met through the production line
  • Conduct all performance reviews and probationary reviews
  • Monitor work performance from the team and ensure that all PPE is adhered to day to day
  • To adhere to safety and quality standards/specifications, in line with specified instructions and processes
  • Develop training programmes in line with progression opportunities, both internally, and externally
  • Provide guidance and support to the team
  • Ensure handover and set up is completed at the start and end of shift, including compiling end of shift reports
  • Ensuring that the workspace is clear from obstruction, and always kept tidy and clean – to prevent any potential safety hazards
  • Reporting any safety hazards in a timely manner, to the Operations Manager
  • To complete all relevant paperwork – in line with company legislation
  • You may be asked occasionally to complete other tasks around the site, as directed by the Production Supervisor

To fulfil these responsibilities as a Production Supervisor you will have the following skills/experience:

  • Come from a strong manufacturing background, having worked within a fast-paced production line
  • Knowledge of and previous experience in a Supervisory role, with responsibilities of managing a team
  • Knowledge of and previous experience of working within a safety critical environment
  • Proven, strong leadership skills, with the ability to raise morale when needed
  • Fantastic communication, attention to detail, and time management skills
  • Strong work ethic, with the ability to work independently and within a team
  • Proven self – starter, with genuine ambition to progress professionally and personally

Additional Desirable Skills:

  • Experience within the chemical processing sector (either handling chemicals/liquids/acids in a manufacturing environment)
  • COSHH
  • Yellow Belt
  • IOSH Managing Safely
