A leading aerospace and defense supplier is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee key manufacturing value streams at its site near Pasadena, CA—supporting critical systems used across a range of commercial and defense applications.

 

The Operations Manager will lead and optimize manufacturing value streams, ensuring world-class performance in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. This role partners cross-functionally to meet and exceed customer expectations while driving continuous improvement using lean principles and business system tools.

  • $165-200k – depending on experience.

 

Key Responsibilities of the Operations Manager:

  • Lead day-to-day operations and staff to meet production goals and customer demand
  • Oversee product manufacturing to ensure high quality and cost-efficiency
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across engineering, supply chain, and facilities
  • Drive lean initiatives and continuous improvement—lead Kaizen events and standard work efforts
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing, customer-focused team
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies and regulatory standards
  • Use data to build and execute action plans that improve operational performance
  • Define clear roles and expectations to foster team cohesion and accountability
  • Provide coaching, development, and feedback to enhance individual and team growth

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7+ years in a manufacturing environment with a strong focus on lean/continuous improvement
  • 3+ years leading one or more value streams
  • Deep knowledge of lean manufacturing systems, tools, and metrics
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams with a strong customer orientation
  • Strong communication, team building, and project management skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field
  • Previous experience manufacturing Cabin Systems – desirable but not essential
  • U.S. Person status required (due to access to controlled data under ITAR)
