Instrumentation Engineer – 6-Month Contract
Location:
 Remote
Rate: $75–$95 per hour (DOE)
Contract: W2 only

We’re seeking an Instrumentation Engineer to join a leading Aerospace Test & Evaluation organization supporting a Part 23 certification program for a state-of-the-art business jet platform.

 

This 6-month contract offers the chance to work at the forefront of flight testing, instrumentation, and data systems, with potential for long-term engagement. You’ll play a key role in designing, executing, and supporting both ground and flight test operations to ensure technical excellence and regulatory compliance.

 

Key Responsibilities of the Instrumentation Engineer

  • Design and document aircraft instrumentation systems, including sensor selection, wiring, calibration, and signal conditioning.
  • Develop and author Flight and Ground Test Plans, FTEO packages, and documentation per FAA Part 23 standards (Part 25 experience welcome).
  • Support test operations through equipment setup, inflight monitoring, and configuration adjustments.
  • Validate and process test data, maintaining accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate closely with engineering teams, pilots, and certification authorities.
  • Manage calibration records, documentation, and instrumentation inventory.

 

 

Required Qualifications of the Instrumentation Engineer

  • Proven experience in flight test or instrumentation engineering, including test planning and execution.
  • Strong knowledge of data acquisition systems (TTC, UEI, NI) and IRIG Chapter 10 standards.
  • Understanding of FAA Part 23/25 certification processes.
  • Proficiency in sensor calibration, telemetry systems, and signal conditioning.
  • Skilled in CATIA V5 and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and documentation skills.
