Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly autonomous PCB librarian to take full ownership of a award winning aerospace company’s electronics parts library. This role is ideal for someone with prior team lead, manager, or senior designer experience who is ready to move into a standards-driven, administrative position with long-term impact.

What you will do as a PCB administrator:

As the sole owner of the library, you will centralize decision-making, enforce quality and naming standards, and guide the evolution of the company’s ECAD processes. This role provides a rare opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to every PCB project across the organization and grow into a leadership role within the ECAD team.

 

Responsibilities as a PCB administrator:

  • Take full ownership of the ECAD library, currently shared across multiple contributors.
  • Enforce and maintain quality and naming standards for all components.
  • Act as the central decision-maker for library accuracy and governance.
  • Support adjacent needs and collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams as required.
  • Train and guide colleagues on library standards and best practices.

 

Required Skills & Experience of a PCB administrator:

  • Strong knowledge of electronic components, datasheets, packaging types, and fit/form/function.
  • OrCAD experience preferred but flexible; other ECAD tools (e.g., Altium) considered if current.
  • IPC standards not mandatory; internal standards and training provided.
  • Experience in industrial or automotive electronics aligns well; pure commercial backgrounds may be less transferable.
  • Knowledge of SQL or component database management a plus.
