We have been retained to source for a Director Business Development Manager in the aerospace and defense sector with clear advancement opportunities to Vice President where you would receive lucrative stock option. This is technical, engineering focused sales role, and it’s your runway to a leadership track with lucrative stock options at the executive level.
Job Summary of the Director of Business Development:
As a Director of Business Development, you will lead strategic growth efforts by identifying and securing new opportunities with high-value customers in aerospace, defense, and industrial markets. You’ll build long-term partnerships, collaborate with engineering and production teams, and shape solutions that meet the world’s most demanding power system requirements. You will manage a newly growing technical Business Development Team (mostly with engineering backgrounds) across 2 sites.
This role is integral to the company’s long-term strategy, with direct exposure to senior leadership and a defined pathway toward VP, where equity incentives and broader business ownership become part of your rewards.
Key Qualifications of the Director of Business Development:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (engineering preferred)
- 8+ years of business development or sales experience in the aerospace and defense industry
- 5+ years in managing a BD team
- Strong skills in customer negotiation, strategic selling, and contract development
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders
- Experience with market analysis, value-based pricing, and competitive positioning
- Eligible to work with ITAR-regulated data (U.S. person or eligible for authorization)
- Willingness to travel up to 40%
