The responsibilities of the Contract Manager position are as follows;

  • Contracts (various: including formal, short form, and annual contracts)—Drafting, Evaluation, Negotiation and Execution:
  • Non-disclosure Agreements, Sales / Purchasing Agreements, Sub-contracts, Consulting Agreements, Licensing Agreements, Master Agreements, review of customer proposed terms and conditions.
  • Distribution Agreements (resellers, agents, joint marketing etc.)
  • Commercial and Public (Government, Federal, State and Local Municipalities) Contracting.
  • Serve as prime point of contact for customers on contractual matters. Act as contractual liaison between Sales & Purchasing for customers and suppliers, ensuring timely review and approval / reconciliation of variations.
  • On all standard and non-standard contracts, provide redlined recommendations and when required negotiate directly with customer lawyers and/or purchasing staff until consensus has been reached.
  • Able to solely manage a Legal department and work across several international regions - including liaison with external counsels.
  • Maintain contractual records and other documents for all projects to be in a state of legal compliance.
  • Provide guidance on contract matters to project managers or other operational staff.
  • Implement procedures for contract management and administration in compliance with company policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Support Finance Dept. in coordinating contractual insurance requirements to protect the organisation.
  • Support Product Management / Marketing to ensure company products and services are offered with complaint and appropriate, competitive terms and conditions
  • Oversee Service Level Agreement Compliance across international regions
  • Ensure contract close-out, extension or renewal and project handover.
  • Support the negotiation and agreement of all aspects of supplier and partner contracts.
  • Where required, train legal skills and processes to colleagues who do not have a strong legal background.

The skills / experience required to fulfil the Contract Manager position are as follows;

· University degree (preferably Law or Contract Management)

· Aerospace contract management experience (highly desirable)

· Awareness of all critical clauses required in any commercial contract.

· Ability to substantiate a case based on facts and evidence with the ability to influence a desired outcome.

· Has keen Commercial awareness - detailed, budgetary and strategic.

· Excellent communication and presentation skills - both written and spoken.
