A leading manufacturer of precision machined parts based near Blackpool is actively recruiting for 2 Quality Engineers on a permanent basis. The positions are offering circa £40,000 p/a for 3 days of work per week, with additional benefits included.

Reporting directly to the Site Quality Manager, your key objective is to reduce part non-conformances and minimise loss of materials from scrap and waste. The role responsibilities are:

•    Coordinate activities in support of 8D investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventative measures
•    Carry out investigations into product non-conformance using appropriate problem solving tools (eg 8D, 5 Whys, FMEA, cause and effect diagrams etc), monitoring effectiveness of actions implemented
•    Where necessary, undertake Six Sigma improvement projects to address specific high-profile issues
•    Liaise with suppliers and customers on related issues and coordinate timely responses
•    Coordinate all external audits and provide satisfactory responses to any NCRs raised
•    Carry out internal audits, ensuring that NCRs raised are responded to and verify the effectiveness of resulting actions
•    Raise and submit concession requests to the customer, ensuring they are processed effectively
•    Challenge the existing Quality processes and the development of new inspection processes and methodologies
•    Involvement in continuous improvement process initiatives

The Quality Manager is keen to hear from experienced Quality Engineers, or potentially Manufacturing / Production Engineers, who have a strong background in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions. The role is focused on reducing waste and scrap from product non-conformance, so previous experience should include exposure to a machining or metalworking environment. Your application should demonstrate a strong grasp on Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma methodologies, such as 5s / 5Why, 8D, RCCA and PFMEA. Your profile will be of particular interest if you have experience in a safety critical industry working with MRB procedures.
