Customer Account Manager - Mason Controls

Our solutions fall into two broad categories: control products and components.

Summary of the Customer Account Manager position;

Primary interface with our customers in a defined territory. Sets strategy for the territory and coordinates all activity for accounts. Fosters strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders by efficient and effective problem resolution. Drives growth of profitable new business and developing existing business by demonstrating the true value we add to our customer. Identifies objectives, strategies and action plans to improve short and long-term sales and company growth. Builds strong relationships and trust through a customer first approach externally with a dynamic solutions finder approach internally. 

Primary responsibilities of the Customer Account Manager position; 

  • Penetrates our account base at all levels and develops strong relationships for opportunities in a technical sales arena, developing strategies to grow the business.

  • Acts as the onsite customer solutions facilitator in all products and services offered by Mason Controls.

  • Engages positively with all internal departments to ensure each area is included within the sales lifecycle and that customer expectations are achieved.

  • Ensures swift resolution of any delays or wider issues that the customer may encounter by fostering strong internal relationships with each department, ensuring clear communication and accountability is delivered so that problems are solved efficiently.

  • Properly identifies those customers where farming is more appropriate than hunting, and vice versa, planning time and territory, contact plans, and right level relationship development accordingly.

  • Demonstrates a pro-active approach to sales and account development, spotting new opportunities, networking accounts to build new relationships and organically grows revenue potential by building trust with new and existing contacts.

  • Provides input and keeps up-to-date the sales funnel.

  • Takes an active role in pricing and proposal recommendations including strategic rationale. Work with the team to prepare business cases for profitable new business that delivers value to the customer.

  • Works with product managers to present Mason capabilities to our customer base.

  • Takes on prospecting tasks as necessary to hunt for new customers.

  • Develop an understanding of the competitive landscape and competitors strategies so we may navigate around them.

  • Provides accurate and detailed trip reports, bookings forecast, analyzes booking trends for their territory.

  • Ensures compliance to Department of Commerce Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and Department of State International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

  • Maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above.

Education, experience and requirements of the Customer Account Manager position;

  • BS degree in Engineering or Business.

  • Proven success in Account Manager or Sales Management using strong coaching skills.

  • Success in technical relationship building based on record of accomplishments - preferably in electro-mechanical components for Aerospace and Defense.

  • Proven year-over-year track record of success in Engineering, Program Management or Sales.

  • Demonstrated success in
    - building strong customer relationships.
    - key accounts penetration at all levels.

  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills

  • Proactive, positive and customer focused attitude.

  • Expectation of knowledge of ITAR, contracts, pricing, and operations in a manufacturing environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Outstanding planning and organizational skills.

  • Expected travel to the region:  65%.
